Lithuania GDP Growth Slows to 4-Year Low
Lithuanian economy expanded 0.1 percent on quarter in the three months to September 2019, compared to an upwardly revised 0.9 percent growth in the previous period, the preliminary estimate showed. This was the weakest GDP growth since the third quarter 2014. Positive contributions came from wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, transport and storage, accommodation and food services activities. By contrast, decreases were reported of professional, scientific, technical, administrative and service companies. On a yearly basis, GDP rose by 3.6 percent, slower than a downwardly revised 3.8 percent expansion in the second quarter, the weakest since the third quarter last year.

Lithuania Q2 GDP Growth Revised Down to 0.8%
Lithuanian economy grew 0.8 percent on quarter in the three months to June 2019, less than an earlier estimate of a 0.9 percent growth and compared to a 1.2 percent rise in the previous period. This was the weakest GDP growth since the third quarter last year. Positive contributions came mostly from manufacturing (0.5% vs 1.1% in Q1); professional, scientific and technical activities, administrative & support activities (0.6% vs 1.9%); wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles & motorcycles, transport and storage, accommodation & food services (2.0% vs 0.4%), and information and communication (2.1% vs -1.4%). Conversely, contraction was seen in construction (-0.3% vs 6.6%) and agriculture, forestry & fisheries (-0.5% vs 1.3%). Meantime, real estate activities showed no growth after declining by 0.7 percent in Q1. Year-on-year, the GDP advanced 3.9 percent, below a first reading of 4.1 percent, and compared to a 4.2 percent rise in the first quarter.

Lithuania GDP Growth Confirmed at 1% in Q1
Lithuanian economy grew 1.0 percent on quarter in the three months to March 2019, in line with an earlier estimate and compared to a 1.4 percent rise in the previous period, the second estimate showed. Positive contributions came mostly from construction (7.3% vs 1.3% in Q4), manufacturing (1.4% vs 2.0%); agriculture, forestry & fisheries (1.5% vs 3.8%); professional, scientific and technical activities, administrative & support activities (0.9%, the same pace as in Q4); information and communication (0.4% vs 1.7%), and wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles & motorcycles, transport and storage, accommodation & food services (0.1% vs 1.5%). Conversely, contraction was seen in real estate activities (-0.2% vs -0.1%), and financial and insurance (-0.8% vs 0.8%). Year-on-year, the GDP advanced 4.0 percent, above a first reading of 3.9 percent, and compared to a 3.8 percent rise in the fourth quarter.

Lithuania GDP Growth Slows to 1% in Q1
Lithuanian economy grew 1.0 percent on quarter in the three months to March 2019, compared to an upwardly revised 1.4 percent expansion in the previous period, the preliminary estimate showed. Positive contributions came from manufacturing and construction. On a yearly basis, GDP rose by 3.9 percent, faster than an upwardly revised 3.8 percent expansion in the fourth quarter 2018. It was the strongest growth since the second quarter of 2017.

Lithuania Q4 GDP Growth Revised Down to 1.3%
Lithuanian economy grew 1.3% on quarter in the three months to December 2018, less than an earlier estimate of a 1.6% growth and compared to an upwardly revised 0.4% rise in the previous period, the second estimate showed. It is the strongest growth since the fourth quarter 2016. Gross fixed capital formation jumped 11.7%, after showing no growth in Q3, led by a rebound in other machinery, equipment and weapon systems (5.6% from -11.2%) and faster rises in other buildings and structures (1.7% from 0.9%) and intellectual property products (6.5% from 0.6%). On the other hand, households’ consumption fell 0.1% (from 1.3% in Q3) and government spending showed no growth (from 0.3%). Meanwhile, net trade contributed negatively to growth, as exports went up 0.4% (from 1.2% in Q3) while imports climbed at a faster 1.5% (from 1.7% in Q3). Year-on-year, the GDP advanced 3.7%, below a first reading of 3.9%, and compared to a 2.6% rise in the third quarter.
