Luxembourg Annual Inflation Rate Steady at 1.2% in November
The annual inflation rate in Luxembourg stood at 1.2 percent in November of 2019, unchanged from the previous month. It remained the lowest inflation since April of 2018, as prices slowed for transport (1.0 percent vs 1.2 percent in October); food & non-alcoholic beverages (0.3 percent vs 0.6 percent) and communication (a flat reading vs 1.0 percent). On the other hand, housing & utilities cost came flat after a 0.1 percent fall in October while prices advanced faster for miscellaneous goods & services (1.7 percent vs 1.5 percent); furniture & household equipment (2.0 percent vs 1.8 percent); restaurants & hotels (2.2 percent vs 2.0 percent); clothing & footwear (1.7 percent vs 1.2 percent) and alcoholic beverages & tobacco (3.0 percent from 2.1 percent). At the same time, inflation was steady for recreation & culture (at 2.1 percent); health (at 0.9 percent) and education (at 1.0 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices showed no growth for the second consecutive month.

Annual inflation rate in Luxembourg decreased to 1.2 percent in October 2019 from 1.3 percent in the previous month. Meanwhile, inflation was steady for health (at 0.9 percent) and education (at 1 percent) while prices fell for housing & utilities (-0.1 percent from 0.6 percent).

Meantime, inflation was steady for miscellaneous goods & services (at 2.3 percent) while prices advanced faster for food & alcoholic beverages (1.5 percent vs 1.4 percent); furniture & household equipment (0.8 percent vs 0.7 percent); clothing & footwear (1.0 percent vs 0.7 percent) and for alcoholic beverages & tobacco (2.3 percent vs 1.9 percent. On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.3 percent, easing from a 0.7 percent rise in April.

Annual inflation rate in Luxembourg edged up to 2.2 percent in March of 2019 from 2.1 percent in the previous month. It was the highest inflation rate since November, as cost rose faster for transport (1.7 percent from 0.8 percent in January); housing & utilities (4.0 percent from 3.7 percent); furniture & household equipment (1.4 percent from 0.8 percent); clothing & footwear (0.6 percent from 0.5 percent) and for health (1.4 percent from 1.2 percent). Meanwhile, inflation was steady for restaurants & hotels (at 3.1 percent) while slowed for miscellaneous goods & services (2.7 percent from 3.0 percent); food & non-alcoholic beverages (1.2 percent from 2.4 percent); recreation & culture (1.1 percent from 1.4 percent) and for alcoholic beverages & tobacco (1.7 percent from 1.9 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.2 percent compared to a 1.5 percent rise in January.
